Refund Policy
PasteDaemon costs $4.99, the clipboard manager is free forever, and until 1 January 2027 the whole app is. There is no reason for this to be complicated: if a licence didn't work out, you get your money back.
- 30 days, no questions asked. You don't have to explain yourself, and I won't try to talk you out of it.
- One email does it: hello@pastedaemon.app, from the address you bought with.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method, in full, including any tax you were charged.
- Your statutory rights come on top of this, never instead of it.
The whole policy, really
The promise
If you buy a PasteDaemon licence and aren't happy with it for any reason, email me within 30 days of purchase and I will refund it in full. You don't need a reason, a defect or a story. "Changed my mind" is a complete request.
This is deliberately more generous than the law requires, for a simple reason: nobody should have to pay to find out whether this app suits them. Right now the entire app is free until 1 January 2027, and after that the clipboard manager stays free permanently and the automation gets a 30-day trial. Buying early is a vote of confidence, and a vote of confidence should be refundable.
The process
How to request one
Email hello@pastedaemon.app with the subject "Refund request". To make it instant, send it from the address you used at checkout, or include:
- The email address on the order — this is how the purchase is located.
- Your order number, if handy. It's on the receipt Lemon Squeezy sent you, but it isn't required.
That's all. There is no form, no support ticket to escalate, and no requirement to explain what went wrong — though if you feel like telling me, it genuinely does shape what gets built next.
Because Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for the sale, they process the actual refund; you may also contact them directly using the link on your receipt if you prefer. Either route reaches the same outcome.
Expectations
How long it takes

Refunds are issued in full, to the original payment method, in the currency you were charged, including any sales tax or VAT collected. Partial refunds aren't a thing here — there is one product at one price.
If more than 10 business days pass after I've confirmed the refund and you still don't see it, write to me and I'll chase it with Lemon Squeezy on your behalf.
Being straight with you
What happens to your key
PasteDaemon verifies licence keys entirely offline — there is no activation server, so there is nothing to switch off. In plain terms: a refunded key will keep on validating on any Mac it's entered on. I can't revoke it, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.
So the request is an honest one rather than a technical one: after a refund, please remove the key in the Licence pane and go back to the free tier, which keeps your entire history, your search and the words read out of your screenshots exactly as they were. Continuing to use a refunded key is a breach of the Terms of Service.
This is the trade-off of offline licensing, and it's the right one: no phoning home, no way for anything to be taken from you later, and no server that could lock you out of your own clipboard. It only works if the honesty runs both ways.
Statutory rights
EU and UK withdrawal rights
If you're a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal on distance purchases. For digital content delivered immediately, that right can be waived — and checkout typically asks you to consent to immediate delivery of your licence key, which does waive it.
It makes no practical difference here. The 30-day policy on this page is longer and less conditional than the statutory 14 days, and I apply it regardless of what you consented to at checkout. Nothing in this policy limits, replaces or requires you to give up any right you have under EU, UK or other applicable consumer law — including rights relating to faulty or misdescribed digital content, which are unaffected by the 30-day window.
Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform, though emailing me will be considerably faster.
The small print
The few exceptions
The no-questions-asked promise is genuine. These are the only situations where it doesn't apply:
- Past 30 days. Outside the window I'm not obliged to refund — but write to me anyway. If something is actually broken, or the app stopped meeting its description, I'd rather refund you than have you feel cheated, and your statutory rights for faulty digital content apply regardless of this window.
- Repeated buy-and-refund cycles. Refunding the same customer repeatedly, or bulk purchases refunded as a pattern, will be declined as abuse.
- Fraudulent orders. Payments flagged as fraudulent by Lemon Squeezy are handled under their process, not this policy.
- Keys shared or resold. A licence key that's been published, sold on or distributed isn't eligible for a refund.
- Volume or custom arrangements agreed separately follow whatever terms were agreed at the time.
None of these exceptions can override a right you hold under mandatory consumer law.

Chargebacks
If you're unhappy, please email me before disputing the charge with your bank. A chargeback on a $4.99 purchase costs a small independent developer several times the sale in fees, takes weeks to resolve, and gets your money back more slowly than simply asking would have. I have never declined a good-faith refund request and don't intend to start.
